London blue topaz is a medium to dark greyish blue, sometimes described as “steely” or “inky”. It is one of the hardest naturally occurring minerals (Mohs hardness of 8) and is the hardest of any silicate (i.e., silicon-based) mineral (other silicates include Emeralds, Morganite, Iolite and Aquamarine).

We have set this series of trillon cut studs with the tips of the gemstones on display, so more of the stone is visible. It is an unusual and eye catching setting. The sterling silver claw was hand carved for this project and is designed to sit relatively flat on your ear lobe.

Each topaz measures 6mm x 6mm.

Designed and made in Melbourne.
