We found four pairs of beautiful opals on our 2019 Northern Rivers Gem Trip. We have set them in delicate sterling silver claws to showcase their natural luminousness and iridiscent colours.
The claws also reveal clearly that these gems are solid not doublets. Let's be honest -synthetic opals never look that great or have the imperfections that make something unique. Natural opals are one of the most beautiful materials on the planet.
These opals are from the opal fields in Lightning Ridge, NSW which produces the finest opals in the world.
Pair one - incredible electric blue colour with darker navy tones moving through the opals. 5mm diameter
pair two - pale crystal with bright blue and yellow flashes 5mm x 4mm oval
Pair three- boulder opal with large crystal surface. One stone has a band of iron stone , so this pair is asymmetric. 7mm x 5mm.
Pair four- roughly circular greyish stone with cornflower blue and orange iridescence. 4mm x 5mm.
